The Opaline

Artistic Housing

The Opaline is a 251-unit mixed-use affordable housing development located at 3539 Dickerson Pike, developed in partnership with Holladay Ventures and the nonprofit Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville. The broader project, named “Artist Hill,” brings together housing, creative space, and community amenities with a shared goal: supporting artists while helping address Nashville’s housing needs.

We were brought onto the project for both naming and branding. Patterns, colors, textures, and early signage and wayfinding concepts were intentionally drawn from interior decisions, mirroring tile selections, material shifts, and color moments throughout the building. The result is a visual identity that feels cohesive with the architecture and interiors, rather than layered on top of them.
