Boedecker Foundation Collaborative Campus

The Boedecker Foundation’s Collaborative Campus sits on 2.5 acres at the intersection of Porter and Riverside, in the Inglewood neighborhood of East Nashville.

Conceived as a multiyear investment in community infrastructure, the campus brings together a world-class music and event venue, leasable office space, an early childhood development center, and a culinary training kitchen. Each component is intentionally designed to provide beautiful, functional space at below-market rates for organizations serving Middle Tennessee.

We were asked to develop the brand identity and wayfinding system for the campus as a whole, as well as for its marquee performance space, Riverside Revival (more on that next!). The challenge was to create a unified identity that could hold a wide range of uses and audiences.

Our work focused on clarity and cohesion. The identity and wayfinding needed to support first-time visitors, daily tenants, families, artists, and community members alike. The system was designed to feel custom and welcoming, while embracing opportunities for fun details.

The campus is a place that provides a tremendous backdrop for many important community events, with a long-term impact on the nonprofits that are able to rent office space and utilize the broader campus.
